Malia Jackson

 

Malia Jackson is a young Latina trans woman of color. Malia recently moved from Colorado to Chicago and has married the love of her life who is a great support. Malia has multiple talents in performing but focuses on modern and liturgical dance. She is also a self-taught dancer. Starting on a church dance team, she moved on to choreographing for dance teams around the Colorado Springs area. She joined YEPP in the summer of 2015 and loves that she has found a space where she can use her passion for performing arts to help not only herself but others as well.

 

Outside of YEPP Malia is working with her husband on building the Dream Movers Modern Dance Company. Malia’s goal with her dance company is to help less fortunate youth of all ages live out their dreams in the career of dance as well as help end youth homelessness.
