Isabelle Rozendaal, Violinist

Isabelle Rozendaal, a Chicago native, started her violin studies at age three, after which she studied violin at Oberlin Conservatory and DePaul University. Adept in both modern and baroque violin, she has performed with many groups in the area including the Bach and Beethoven Ensemble, Callipygian Players, Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, and Rockford Symphony Orchestra. She has performed live on WFMT radio station and has recorded with Cedille records. An active teacher in the Chicago area, she has taught at the Merit School of Music, and is on faculty at the South Side Suzuki Cooperative and the Chicago West Community Music Center. A social justice advocate as well as musician, she also received a B.A. in Environmental Justice from Oberlin College. When she isn’t performing or teaching, Isabelle enjoys playing viola da gamba, baking and doing yoga.
